Van William – Countries : VH Album Review

I wouldn’t necessarily call myself a country music fan, but during a writing slump I decided to pick up this review opportunity and it was surprisingly inspiring.

Though not exactly my taste in music, I was enamoured by the passion behind this album and the feelings that it evoked. Countries is a truly profound album with a heartfelt story as Van William explores heartbreak in many ways, from the loss of his family business, to the ending of a six year relationship.

By The Sea 2017

My most recent visit to Margate was my favourite yet. Not only did I finally see Metronomy (in my home town no less), everywhere I looked was a touch of magic – the whole town thriving with creativity and really shining as a community. For the first time in ages, I felt so much joy to simply be back home and that is all thanks to By The Sea.

Superfood – Bambino || VH Album Review

COMMON PEOPLE 2017 || VH Festival Review

I was lucky enough to get press for Common People festival again this year, and much like last time, my favourite part of the day was The Uncommon Stage. Local bands were full of raw passion and the atmosphere in that tent was just unshakable.

Fazerdaze – Morningside || VH Album Review

If you read my post about the Tashaki Miyaki album, you might remember that I mentioned another dream pop album that I received on the same day. Well, I can finally share it with you! I fell in love with Morningside by Fazerdaze instantly, and was incredibly happy to be able to listen to it way over a month before it was to be released. That said, with all the time came a lot of procrastination, so when it came to writing up my review, I had listened to this album perhaps a little too much.

Jen Gloeckner – VINE || VH Album Review

I recently reviewed Jen Gloeckner’s new album VINE for Vulture Hound and was fortunate enough to be sent a free copy of the record on vinyl, which clearly made me very happy.
