Reconnecting with home while finding peace in the city

Remember when I had that really tiring month? If only past me knew what was coming.

I’m not going to lie, this month has been a struggle, but at the same time, I have felt the support of so many people. Not everyone, but a fair amount. That’s not to say I’ve always listened to those supportive words, or even that I haven’t dismissed them for one reason or another. Imposter syndrome (a psychological pattern in which an individual doubts their accomplishments and has a persistent internalized fear of being exposed as a “fraud” – cheers Wikipedia/Mel for introducing it to me) is real and the craziest thing is being SO aware of it and still making excuses. Where has the month gone?

Never has a month passed me by so quickly as this August. I suppose it has been another whirlwind of activity, both at work and at home, but still I can’t quite believe that we are already in September.

Favourites || May ’16

First of all, apologies for how late this post is…at least it’s just about within the first week of June, right? I had initially started this post with a much longer list, but by the time I got through them I realised that it was mostly just a list of all the things I bought/enjoyed throughout the month so I narrowed it down to the following items that really stood out. Just imagine that I was listening to Iggy Pop’s Post Pop Depression album with each item, because that was most likely the case. I tell you what I’ll feature one of my favourite songs from the album at the end, enough said.

Favourites || April ’16

If you’ve read my previous post, you’ll know that the last month has been a busy one for me, moving into a new flat and having a lot going around me – it’s been pretty hectic. So this “Favourites” post is a little later than I’d normally prefer, still, better than nothing! I haven’t really had the chance to buy many nice things this month as any money that I’ve had has gone into paying rent for two places, fees for the new place and just generally staying alive. However, I have been lucky enough to try a few lovely things either by chance, or by earlier purchases that I’ve only now allowed myself to use, or as a gift from a friend…
