Thoughts For The New Year

January rolls around once again, along with the encouragement of new goals and a fresh sense of motivation. You know, those things that typically follow a period of Christmas rest, although it would be safe to say that this time, our state of relaxation may have been somewhat led astray. New plans rushed in place of those that many of us had worked on and looked forward to for most of the year. Only then to be swiftly followed by yet another lockdown. You can’t blame anyone for reaching out to 2021 as a complete restart.

#2017GOALS

When it comes to the new year, I’m personally still in a zone of vegging out for at least the first two weeks. Perhaps it’s because my birthday is on January 9th and I just can’t settle on a new healthy lifestyle routine before the day that I’m supposed to stuff my face with cake. However, that day has passed and I’m ready, not to create a new me, but to make this year the best it can be.

Lust for London

It’s funny how things happen. How an opportunity to go see an amazing one of a kind gig at a beautiful venue in your country’s capital just falls into your lap. I was barely aware of Iggy Pop’s Post Pop Depression tour and then all of a sudden I had landed myself a ticket to his show at Royal Albert Hall. Not only was I going to see a musical legend, no matter how leathery his stomach, Josh Homme had something to do with it and would be on that stage, doing what he does best (and oh my did he do it well).
