Listen 2021: Top Tracks #4
This month, and this last week in particular, has been such a treat in many ways. Firstly, we have my new favourites Sports with another new single, along with their latest EP, Get A Good Look Pt 1. It has been a couple weeks now but I still cannot get enough. Secondly, we have my teen reawakening with the return of The Horrors – going back to their Strange House days no less. It got me reminiscing on their varying albums and how much I adore each one in its own way. Thirdly we have the even newer Little Suspicions with a dreamy little indie number – so easy on the ears, I cannot wait to see what this band do. Finally, well, we have Wolf Alice, need I say anymore? Regardless, let’s get into it.

Another week, another lot of new singles that I just can’t get enough of. New albums from Goat Girl and Arlo Parks are personally a highlight – to the point I nearly considered featuring them both in full on the playlist. Maybe some favourite album tracks will find their way on there in the near future, alas for now it is all about the new singles. So without further ado, let’s get into it.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who looks to a new season, or changes in the weather as inspiration to get a new playlist in the works. As October begins, it is time for music to match the rain outside your window and the chill at the tip of your nose. Perhaps something a little on the acoustic folk side, but really anything fit for sipping a hot beverage of some sort, be it the most decadent hot chocolate or a cheeky little tipple to warm those rosy cheeks. In short, a playlist that is overall soothing, but not without the odd bit of oomph and power to kick the fire up inside on those grey days. Or you know, whatever tickles your fancy – who said anything about rules?

Wow, what a busy few weeks I’ve had! Well, vaguely busy with a lack of motivation thrown in for good measure, BUT, rest assured I have still been listening to a load of new music. So, to make up for this post not quite running to schedule – which, let’s be honest, is something that only really matters to my little perfectionist brain – this playlist will feature more tracks than usual.
Music Diary || No.1
Here goes, my attempt to keep looking for new music to love and adore, whether it’s the latest tracks from the big bands, listening to recommendations from friends or just browsing through new artists myself. I’d like to make a new playlist each week with just a few songs I’m loving at that moment in time. It may be that some tracks are more current than others as I may find an album from a band that had previously missed my radar, so if their EP from 2012 piques my interest, then so be it.
