Here’s a short and sweet selection of my favourite bits from August. Enjoy!
Palm Incense Holder
I found this little ornament at one of many stalls at Broadstair’s Folk Week festival this summer. I had initially picked it up, thinking of using it as a little tray for my favourite selection of rings. On closer inspection however, I realised that it was in fact an incense holder and I loved it even more. Strangely though, the guy selling them decided to tell me he hated them, but his wife had insisted on buying them and now he was going to have to eat humble pie, because they were selling really well. Well duhh. Does he not realise how much people are into the whole flowers in palms kinda thing? Mindfulness and all that. Never mind, I’ll just take your ‘ugly’ incense holder off your hands, no problem! The photo above is actually from my sister’s room, but it now sits on my window sill with my Himalayan salt crystal lamp and cactus.
Single: World Princess part II by Grimes
Now, it’s no secret that I’m a fairly big fan of Grimes. However when her latest album Art Angels came out, I wasn’t entirely in love with it, at least not to start with. I don’t know if it’s seeing her perform the new material twice this year, or just giving the album more time, but now I can’t get enough of it. I’ve particularly been loving her track ‘World Princess part II’. It’s fun, upbeat and makes me feel so happy whenever I listen to it. With lyrics like “You’re so far behind me” and the repetition of “It’s mine this single feels really empowering and has such a feel-good energy to it.
I’ve become a bit of a candle fiend lately. Any shop I go to, if they have candles, you can bet I’ll be there for a good little while. This time I had popped into TkMaxx. THEIR CANDLE SELECTION IS SO BEAUTIFUL. Obviously they have a range of different brands, all at super affordable prices. When I saw this candle I may have done a a little jump. NEROLI. No big deal, just one of my favourite scents. I mean, it’s just so beautiful, fresh and fragrant. In terms of essential oils, neroli has been proven to increase our brains production of serotonin, which makes us feel happy. Fair to say then that neroli is an uplifting scent, another reason why it’s up there with my top fragrances of all time. Much to my delight, this candle smells divine, much like Lush’s neroli filled Frozen bath ballistic – you’ve guessed it, one of my favourite bath bombs ever.
Lush Green Bubbleroon
Now this one is a little bittersweet. This is one of my favourite bubble bars – it’s meadow fresh, super bright, so refreshing and just THE BEST. However, the big old bosses in Lush are taking it away for good 😥
Now, it’s never been a best seller, especially when it was a pale green blob in comparison to its revamped bold green and glimmering lustre. Yet this colour touch up and its added sparkle was not enough to win people over. Green comes in as one of five Lush products to be discontinued permanently along with Granny Takes a Dip bubble bar, Pop in the Bath bubble bar, Honey Bee bath bomb and Porridge soap. So if any of these are your favourite, stock up IMMEDIATELY. They will soon be gone forever. However, it seems there may be plans for new better things to come. Remember Space Girl? Yeah sure we lost that violet scented beauty, but now we have Intergalactic, which has now taken over as Lush’s best selling bath bomb. I guess it’s not all that bad, besides, the Oxford Street store sells a very similar bubble bar called Grass, so I suppose if I get really desperate, there are already other options. Phew.

I have been looking for palm had insence holder everyone with no luck. Would you be so kind and help me? Maybe you can put me in contact with the seller? Or I can send money and you could purchase it for me and mail it? Did it also come in black? I would purchase one black and one brown.
Thank you so much 🙂
I’d love to help you, however I got it from a stall at a small festival type thing over the Summer. I don’t know who the supplier was. Have you tried looking on Amazon?
